NVQ Level 5 ICT Local Area Network Project Proposal
Introduction
JB Network Planners are networking engineering and design company
specializing in mid to large sized corporation design and implementation of Local and
WAN with the goal of providing increase productivity, employee performance and
improved workflow.
We will be handling the design and implementation phase of the project and all
pricing and fees will be handled by our department.
Scope of Work
The work that will be performed will include the design and installation of a fully
switched star network. This includes the installation and setup of all the network devices,
cabling and interfaces which may include but may not be limited to workstations, multifunction devices, servers, switches, routers, racks and all related software as mentioned in
the requirements.
Network Scope
The propose network is designed to mini airport which will consist of
approximately 8 rooms in a 3500 square feet building. The rooms within the buildings
will be server room, two public rest rooms, passport checking counters, boarding pass
areas, lockage checking areas, arrival details checking area and canteen.
Objectives
1. Secure Service:
The main objective of this network is to provide secure
administrative computing service to mini airport. It is designed to functionally and
physically isolate from access by people not employed by mini airport so as to
minimize the risk of unauthorized use.
2. Integration and update:
This is a new installation in a new building with only
exterior walls. The network and equipment being installed will be new state of the
art equipment designed specifically for mini airport.
3. Scalability:
The network design is scalable so that more network
cable equipment can be added if needed and as funding becomes available without
having to redo the installed network.
